At about 15.00 hours on 24th October, 1939, we left CHING SHAN KEUK (

) on board the above junk to go fishing in Deep Bay. We arrived at Deep Bay at about 18.00 hours same day (24th October, 1939) and commenced fishing.

At about 21.30 hours I went to bed. I slept in the

forward cabin on the starboard side of the junk (astern).

At about 03.00 hours next morning (25th October, 1939)

I was awakened by the noise of machine gun fire. I then heard a number of my crew running up on deck. A minute or so later my brother PANG FUT shouted down the hold and asked me to hand up the arms and ammunition. I had just finished handing the arms and ammunition to my brother when I received a bullet wound in my right buttock. At the time the bullet struck me I was facing the cabin door. I was admitted into the Kowloon Hospital at 08.00 hours on 25th October, 1939, and discharged at 11.00 hours on 28th October, 1939.
